About The IMAGE Center: Independent Marylanders Achieving Growth through Empowerment (The IMAGE Center), founded in 2010 by Mike Bullis, our former Exec. Director) a prominent leader in the Independent Living Movement. Governed and staffed primarily by individuals with disabilities, we proudly serve Baltimore City, Baltimore & Harford Counties, with our reach extending statewide. Position Summary: The Board of Directors seeks an innovative and visionary Executive Director to lead The IMAGE Center into its next phase of growth and development. This pivotal role demands a dynamic leader who will drive organizational strategy, elevate operational efficiency, enhance board capacity, and cultivate strategic partnerships with donors. The Executive Director will act as the primary ambassador for the organization, overseeing a dedicated team of 18 staff members and managing a $1.5 million budget aimed at expanding our services and influence. The Executive office is centrally located in Towson, Maryland with regular travel required for meetings and program oversight.

Salary Range: 

This position is exempt, with a salary range of $90,000 to $115, 000 annually, paid on a bi-weekly schedule. Other benefits are competitive to the market. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Direct the organization’s strategic planning, program development, and delivery to advance our mission.
  • Operational Management: Ensure smooth, efficient operations by managing staff, overseeing daily activities, and maintaining robust business systems.
  • Program & Event Management: Lead innovative programs and initiatives that engage and support people with disabilities in our community and oversee the planning and execution.
  • Marketing and Public Relations: Act as the chief spokesperson, drive marketing strategies, and develop strategic partnerships to promote The IMAGE Center’s mission.
  • Fundraising and Financial Oversight: Lead fundraising efforts, secure diverse revenue streams, secure, write and manage grant applications to support organizational sustainability.
  • Advocacy and Government Relations: Represent The Image Center in interactions with elected officials and advocate for policies and programs that align with our mission.
  • Board Development and Support: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to enhance governance practices, recruit and retain board members, strategic planning, and financial management.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Rehabilitative Sciences/Human Services preferred;  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in nonprofit management.
  •  8-10+ years of senior leadership experience, preferably within a disability-focused nonprofit organization.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organizational development, and partnership cultivation.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and driven to exceed consumers’ expectations for service.  
  • Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board

member relationships

  • Exceptional written communication and public speaking skills.
  • Proven expertise in grant writing, contract negotiation, fundraising, marketing, and advocacy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Centers for Independent Living, housing, and workforce development trends.
  • Familiarity with Maryland’s legislative landscape is highly desirable.
  • Residency in Maryland required.
