Description

Reintegration & Wellness Program Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION

About Us:

RECLAIM provides reintegration support that centers the mental, emotional, and relational health of individuals impacted by the criminal legal system and their loved ones to better prepare them for the return home. We are an organization led by individuals impacted by our prison system who are committed to expanding access to individual and collective care for Black, Indigenous, and people of color that are over-represented in our prison system, as well as Queer and Trans community members. Our mission is rooted in the knowledge that healthy relationships with oneself, with loved ones, and with community nourish our lives and are central to collective healing, action, and liberation.

We envision a world where care is common, collective, and rooted in the inherent dignity, agency and belonging of each and every one of us.

Our organization has nearly two decades of experience working directly with individuals impacted by incarceration and reentry. As University Beyond Bars, we ran in-prison education programs and supported people in their reintegration journey. As RECLAIM, we are committed to the normalization of mental, emotional, and relational health in communities that have been historically harmed, pathologized, and criminalized by the medical and mental health system. We are building an inside/outside reintegration program wherein program participants will have access to 5 months of programming designed to better prepare them for the transition home and life post release. On their return home, RECLAIM staff, Peer Counselors, support group facilitators and network of politicized healers will continue to support individuals and their loved ones in the first 12 months of their reintegration journey.

We seek a full-time Reintegration & Wellness Program Manager to help us develop and implement our programmatic and organizational goals.

Position Summary:

The Reintegration & Wellness Program Manager will play a central role in shaping RECLAIM's community-based care model for people returning home from prison and their loved ones. You will work with our Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) Advisory Board to develop and manage our Therapy Voucher and Peer Counseling Programs. Additionally, the Reintegration & Wellness Program Manager will help deepen and expand RECLAIM’s community partnerships and grow our network of therapists and counselors as we work to increase the meaningful support services available to our incarcerated and formerly incarcerated community and their networks of support.

Core Responsibilities

RECLAIM is still in the process of developing and launching its community-based reintegration and mental health programming. The Reintegration & Wellness Program Manager will play an integral role in that design and development. As we finalize the program development, however, the Reintegration & Wellness Program Manager’s work plan will evolve to primarily manage and coordinate those programs. Therefore, this job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with the position.

Program Design & Development

  • Lead and launch of Peer Counseling (PC) and Therapy Voucher programs in collaboration with Capacity Building Director (CBD)
  • Continue to develop RECLAIM’s Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) Advisory Board and broaden our network of radicalized non-carceral healers
  • Work with the CBD and our community partners to design and develop RECLAIM’s MHP training
  • Collaborate with the Outreach and Advocacy Manager (OAM) in developing the Peer Counselor Mentorship Program
  • Assist in developing a programmatic outreach plan

Program Management & Coordination

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Peer Counseling (PC) and Therapy Voucher programs, ensuring smooth logistics and responsive participant care
  • Manage participant intake and coordinate placement and follow-up
  • Serve as primary point of contact for therapist partners, offering resources and support for logistical and reintegration-related challenges and questions as they arise
  • Coordinate communications and convenings for Peer Counselor Mentors
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training for Peer Counselors
  • Serve as primary point of contact with current and prospective PC program participants
  • Monitor program budgets and track key performance indicators
  • Provide coordination for inside/outside courses and participant enrollment process

Program Assessment & Data Tracking

  • Work with Capacity Building Director to design, implement, and report on surveys and other learning tools to ensure that the goals of the program align with intended program outcomes
  • Track program assessment data

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Work collectively with staff and community members to ensure the health and sustainability of the organization
