    TITLE: Part-Time Grants Manager (20 hrs/week)

    You must be a resident in one of the following states: MA, VT, ME, RI, NC, FL, CO and OH. 

    WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

    Addgene’s Grants Manager will drive the planning, securing, and stewarding of Addgene’s grant-funded initiatives. These grants will fund innovative and impactful new initiatives that will bolster Addgene’s mission of supporting scientific discovery and collaboration among researchers worldwide. You will collaborate with leaders across Addgene to project-manage our grants processes, including persuasively describing our impact as well as fulfilling specific grant requirements and providing reporting and stewardship to funders.

    This role is completely flexible to be fully remote, hybrid, or onsite, whatever works best for you! Our office is located at 490 Arsenal Way in Watertown, Massachusetts. Our beautiful office space has free, ample parking with a complimentary shuttle from Harvard Square and is on multiple bus lines, with the cost of public transit covered by Addgene (if onsite at least 4 days/week).

    You have flexibility when you work your hours, but need to be available generally for meetings that occur during 9am-4pm EST.

    You must be a resident in one of the following states: MA, VT, ME, RI, NC, FL, CO and OH.

    When joining our team as an “Addgenie”, you will work with multidisciplinary internal teams to help fulfill this mission, including scientists, software engineers and product developers, renowned customer support teams, marketing gurus, and business development professionals. Together, Addgenies create and enhance opportunities for research scientists worldwide to deposit their materials, find products and resources easily on our website, and receive unparalleled support in receiving and expertly using our materials in their own experiments.

    The Role:

    The Grants Manager will spearhead the organization’s grants program, expertly managing current, active grants and future funding opportunities. Collaborating with leaders across Addgene to project manage our grants processes and workflows, you will:

    • Lead the strategy and administration of Addgene’s Grants function, including leading pre-award and post-award functions within Grants administration. 
    • Manage Grants projects, including creating and executing detailed processes and workflows with key team leaders, such as Addgene’s effort reporting process. Manage Grants policies, including creating and updating existing policies as needed to meet new sponsor and/or organizational requirements.  
    • Closely collaborate with the Research team and other key leaders at Addgene to inform and engage team members during all stages of grant application and subsequent project management, including meeting with grant leaders.  
      • Create and update grant management reports, sharing them with grant key leaders. 
    • Act as go-to expert for leadership on the landscape of scientific federal grants and scientific foundations, including all pertinent federal grant rules and regulations.
    • Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to maintain budget needs up against grant opportunities and to complete grant audit requirements. 
    • Assist Addgene’s Research team as needed to create powerful, persuasive content describing Addgene’s impact within the scientific community.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Bachelor's degree is required, advanced degree preferred
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Grants rules and regulations is required
    • Experience managing Federal Grant audits is required
    • Experience working with Federal Grant reporting, administration, and project management required
    • Knowledge of budgeting principles and financial management practices
    • Expert project manager, extremely organized, capable of juggling multiple deadlines  
    • Clear communicator and natural collaborator
