    Description

    The role of the Student Support Coordinator is to work with Adult Basic Education (ABE) and English Second Language (ESL) learners from different backgrounds, cultures, and countries. The coordinator will assist students with intake and enrollment and provide support for issues related but not limited to enrollment, retention, testing, and other education barriers. 

    • Contact new students to complete initial intakes and schedule new student orientation sessions.
    • Participates in new student orientation sessions and assists students with completing required paperwork.
    • Facilitates CASAS assessments as needed for pre & post-testing.
    • Communicate with students, instructors, case managers, and Career advisors to coordinate placements.
    • Makes referrals to other community resources and programs.

    Assists with addressing barriers to attendance, such as childcare and transportation.

    • Provide monthly reports of activities and progress toward achieving student enrollment outcomes and agency goals.
    • Assist with upkeep and & organization of enrollment data (files, spreadsheets, student database).
    • Follow up with students who missed scheduled classes or testing.
    • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
    • Perform any other duties or projects as assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements

    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Knowledge of or willingness to learn various office technologies including Microsoft 365

    Other Preferred Skills/Abilities

    • Certification in CASAS assessments. If not certified, DCLC will provide training.
    • Ability to travel around Delaware County to conduct student recruitment, intake, and assessments.
    • Bilingual/Spanish (Preferred)
    • Ability to travel within Delaware County to conduct student recruitment, intakes, and assessments.
