    Description

    VECINA provides training, technical legal support, and mentorship to immigration practitioners and to pro bono attorneys. VECINA seeks an Administrative Coordinator to provide general organizational administrative and operational support, as well as to organize and track the progress of VECINA’s grant-funded deliverables The Administrative Coordinator will also coordinate placement of immigration cases with pro bono attorneys and track the progress of pro bono cases.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks for the organization, including record-keeping, email and mail correspondence, payment of bills, and scheduling
    • Coordinate and assist with the planning and execution of organizational and project-specific meetings and other activities
    • Support financial management by processing accounting items (including bills, invoices, and receipts), and maintaining accurate financial records 
    • Support grant applications and funder reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with funding guidelines – including tracking and reporting on funder deliverables and monitoring
    • Maintain and update databases, stakeholder records, and other organizational documentation, including for case management and tracking
    • Organize and track internal workflow on assigned projects
    • Coordinate placement of immigration cases with pro bono attorneys
    • Work closely with wide range of external stakeholders, including: pro bono attorneys; pro bono counsel; staff at funding organizations
    • Perform other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma/GED or foreign equivalent
    • Previous experience in nonprofit administration or office settings strongly preferred
    • Ability to work well independently and be a self-starter in a deadline- driven environment 
    • Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required
    • Strong computer skills and familiarity with G-Suite, AirTable, Bloomerang, among other platforms 
    • Experience with pro bono case placement preferred
    • Commitment to immigrant and social justice
    • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Empathy, flexibility, and commitment to principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and accessibility
    • Fluency in one or more languages other than English preferred (especially Dari, Pashto, or Spanish)
