    Spoonfuls seeks a Development Coordinator to serve as an integral part of the larger Development team. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving and Special Events, the Development Coordinator will support all aspects of the Development team’s fundraising efforts. In addition to managing day-to-day administrative responsibilities, the Development Coordinator will support officers across the development functions, including events; individual and major giving; corporate and foundation relations; and donor engagement. This is an excellent role for an early-career professional looking to develop their skills more broadly across all development functions.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Database Management and Gift Processing

    • Assist with managing the Spoonfuls’ donor database with integrity and all development systems, including all online giving platforms, to ensure effectiveness and efficiency across all systems
    • Assist the Development team in monthly reporting, campaign tracking, and list pulls; manage and maintain digital lists as well as reporting needs for direct mail, e-solicitations, and other communications
    • Work with Spoonfuls team members to reconcile gifts into accounting records and process all daily gifts including checks and online donations made through various platforms.
    • Work with team members to administer timely donor acknowledgement letters, tax receipts, and pledge reminders for individual donors .

    Event Support

    • Working closely with the Events team, support online and event-based fundraising and engagement activities, as well as coordination and communication with external vendors.
    • Assist with planning and coordination of special events, including: building registration and auction pages through various platforms managing event invitation lists, RSVP lists, and other communications; assisting with calendar listings and promotions as needed.
    • Assist the monthly reconciliation process by appropriately documenting all event-related costs and tracking expenses against budgets
    • Occasional night and weekend work
    • Additional Responsibilities as requested by the Events Lead and development team

    Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) and Portfolio Management

    • Assist with prospect research for the CFR team, including researching potential foundations, high net-worth individuals, corporation’s giving entities and priorities
    • Help prepare data for development team’s communications and grant reporting, including working closely with the Operations team to consolidate data and perform data clean-up as needed
    • As needed, prepare donor lists for team members’ further qualification; help prepare colleagues for external meetings by preparing presentation decks; and/or prepare research summaries and notes for development officers
    • Help to coordinate cultivation and engagement efforts, including coordinating ride-alongs and other volunteer opportunities across Spoonfuls departments

    Qualifications:

    • A strong candidate for this role will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following qualifications:
    • 1-2 years of experience in nonprofit development or related role, and/or experience serving in an administrative support role a plus
    • Experience in a development office, with event planning, and familiarity with development functions strongly preferred, but not required
    • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher, Power Point), and Salesforce, as well as a willingness to learn new systems as needed
    • Familiarity with database management and virtual meeting tools preferred (Online Giving platforms, Google Meet, Zoom)
    • Comfort in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities and deadlines
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • An ability to support multiple leaders and managers across an organization
    • Strong attention to detail and care for accuracy of data and accounts and reporting metrics
    • Good judgment and ability to be discreet with handling confidential information
    • An ability to work independently and as a team member
    • Motivated to support Spoonfuls mission and departments

    Hours:

    Full-Time, Exempt: Must be available 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, though schedules may vary day to day. Spoonfuls operates with a hybrid work schedule, meaning employees must be in the office a minimum of 2-3 days a week, and are able to work from home on the remaining days.

    Physical Demands:

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and materials management is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Support with event setup and breakdown may include lifting more than 10 lbs.

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Some tasks outside the office may be required (attending meetings, attending events, shipping materials, etc.).
