Description

The Lighthouse Church and Ministries seeks a dynamic and strategic Director, Human Resources who is instrumental in supporting organization strategies, driving success, evaluate the human resource function and performance and partner with leadership to shape organizational culture.  The Director, Human Resources will leverage best-in-class HR practices to lead, develop, implement, and support programs.

Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement the organization's people strategy aligned with the overall mission and goals. Collaborate with senior leadership to anticipate talent needs, identify skill gaps, and create strategies to attract and retain diverse and highly skilled professionals.

Talent Acquisition, Onboarding and Offboarding: Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring a consistent and inclusive approach to hiring top-tier candidates. Implement effective onboarding programs to welcome new employees and assimilate them into the organization's culture. Implement effective offboarding practices to ensure a smooth transition for exiting employees.

Employee Engagement and Development: Foster a positive, and inclusive work environment by promoting employee engagement, recognition, and well-being initiatives. Support professional development and growth opportunities for staff through training, mentoring, and performance management systems.

Employee Health and Wellness: Develop, implement, communicate, and provide tools, resources, and programs that can improve the health and wellbeing of staff.

HR Policies and Compliance: Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure the organization maintains best practices related to HR compliance, employee safety, and welfare.

Compensation and Benefits: Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits packages that attract and retain top talent while considering budgetary constraints and equity principles.

Equity and Inclusion: Champion a culture of equity, fairness, and inclusion, ensuring that these principles are embedded in all aspects of the organization's operations and HR practices.

Performance Management: Implement effective performance management processes, including goal setting, regular feedback, and performance evaluations. Partner with managers to address performance issues and develop improvement plans where necessary.

HR Metrics and Analytics: Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions, measure the effectiveness of HR programs, and identify areas for improvement.

Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor for employees, managing sensitive issues, mitigating/managing conflicts, and promoting positive employee experience.

Legal Compliance: Stay updated with employment laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's compliance with HR-related legal requirements.

Qualifications    

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years’ progressive Human Resources experience, with 3 years in leadership roles.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and HR compliance.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and tact.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and other HR-related software.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on active listening.
  • HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) are a plus.
  • Experience working in nonprofit or faith-based environments are preferred
  • High ethical standards and strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
