Position: Director of Conflict Resolution and Anti-Bias Initiatives 

Reports to: Executive Director, NJSBF 

 

The New Jersey State Bar Foundation (NJSBF) provides comprehensive programming that supports schools in New Jersey to build and strengthen a positive school climate and culture. Our free violence prevention and anti-bias educator trainings help schools establish: 

  • Strong conflict-resolution and peer-mediation programs  
  • Active school climate teams  
  • Trauma-informed and restorative policies and practices 
  • Relevant social and emotional learning 
  • Anti-bias programming suitable for a wide range of school populations 

 

NJSBF is currently seeking a Director of Conflict Resolution and Anti-Bias Initiatives to oversee the anti-bias educator training program. This position requires vision, positivity and optimism. The candidate must be able to think quickly and address challenges as they arise. A qualified candidate will have a good track record of working with many types of people in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should be a team-oriented individual and have strong leadership skills including effective communication, integrity, recognizing strengths in others and creativity.  

 

Day-to-Day Duties: 

  • Supervise Project Manager and Program Coordinator 
  • Effectively facilitate virtual and in-person programs 
  • Trainings and Curriculum  
  • Plan training schedules 
  • Keep trainings and curriculum up to date and relevant, including updating various curriculum to ensure it matches the current laws, policies and regulations, as well as synthesizes with the needs of schools and educators 
  • Create new training and programming, as needed 
  • Monitor training registration processes 
  • Facilitators 
  • Appropriately assign facilitators to trainings 
  • Maintain relationships with facilitators to track the trends and needs of educators  
  • Hire, train and keep all facilitators updated on changes to training agendas 
  • Process and voucher facilitator invoices 
  • Plan all aspects of special projects and conferences, such a youth workshops; school administrator and principal conferences, including coordinating with schools, identifying and securing keynote speakers and panelists and developing the event agenda  
  • Create connections with stakeholders around the state including schools, community organizations, state-run entities, etc. 
  • Encourage applicants for school mini grants to advance goals of the department; evaluate applicants and make recommendations for awards 
  • Maintain budget oversight 
  • Keep track of department statistics, data, and feedback and respond accordingly 
  • Respond to inquiries from educators 
  • Work with other Foundation staff on ongoing projects 

 

Long-Range Duties 

  • Plan for growth of programs due to expanding needs - conceptualize and create new anti-bias programming as needed 
  • Maintain, update, promote and coordinate reprints of numerous curricula 
  • Market programs 
  • Plan and create annual budget 
  • Manage long-term projects related to growth of programs – may include writing curricula, evaluating programs for efficacy, integration of virtual and in-person programs 
  • Keep content on web pages up to date 

 

Skills: 

  • Supervisory experience (3 years or more preferred) 
  • Anti-bias workshop/training facilitation and curriculum development 
  • Proficient in Zoom 
  • Well-versed in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Constant Contact 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Detail-oriented 
  • Organized multi-tasker
