    Role Description

     This is a full-time grant funded role for a Program Director at Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing. The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the organization's shelter and transitional housing programs, managing staff and program budgets, collaborating with community partners, and ensuring program compliance. This role will be primarily based in Dover, DE, with flexibility for some remote work.

     Salary and Benefits:

    Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Program Management:

       - Oversee the daily operations of shelter and transitional housing programs, including staffing, client services, and facility management.

       - Develop and implement program policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

       - Monitor and evaluate program performance, making necessary adjustments to meet goals and objectives.

    2. Staff Supervision:

       - Recruit, train, and supervise program staff, including case managers, shelter coordinators, and support personnel.

       - Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development activities.

       - Provide support and guidance to staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

    3. Client Services:

       - Ensure high-quality service delivery to clients, including intake assessments, case management, and access to supportive services.

       - Address client concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

    4. Program Development and Evaluation:

       - Design and implement new programs and services to meet emerging needs and enhance program effectiveness.

       - Collect and analyze program data to assess performance and impact, preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.

       - Stay current on best practices, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to ensure program compliance and innovation.

    5. Community Relations and Partnerships:

       - Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including local agencies, service providers, and funders.

       - Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and conferences, promoting our mission and advocating for our clients.

       - Collaborate with other organizations to coordinate services and resources for clients.

    6. Budget and Resource Management:

       - Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.

       - Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with funding requirements and organizational policies.

    Qualifications:

    - Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, or a related field preferred.

    - Experience in program management, with at least 2 years in the nonprofit sector.  Shelter or transitional housing program preferred.

    - Strong knowledge of unhoused issues, housing resources, and supportive services.

    - Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team effectively.

    - Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    - Experience in budget management and resource allocation.

    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills.

    Work Environment:

    This position is based in a shelter or transitional housing facility. The role may involve occasional evening and weekend work to meet program needs and attend events.

    - Minimum 2 years of professional experience in nonprofit work, development, and human/social services .

    - Proven track record in program development and grant budgeting, with demonstrated success in program development and assessment.

    Technical Skills:

    - Proficient in Microsoft Office.

    - Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools as needed.

    Communication & Collaboration:

    - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in comprehensive writing and reporting.

    Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:

    - Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.

    - Experience in making data-driven decisions in program development a budgeting.

    - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Leadership & Management:

    - Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and guide team members.

    - Strong project management skills, including experience overseeing volunteers.

    - Ability to drive results through strategic planning and execution.

    Interpersonal Skills:

    - High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate and resolve conflicts.

    - Strong customer service orientation, with experience managing CRM databases.

    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Education & Experience:

    Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
