    Description

    PlaySpace is a program of Salem Family Resources and is on the first floor of Cindy’s Place (155 Main St., Salem NH). This part-time position will be responsible for facilitating 1-2 parent-child play groups each week for infants to 5 years old. This is a 2.5 to 5 hour/week position that requires the leader to be on-site for each shift. Each shift is 2.5 hours and there are 2 shifts available Monday and Friday 9:00am-11:30am. We are looking for one person to cover both these days or two people to each take one day. Parents/caregivers are able to bring their own child with them (unless this child interferes with their ability to lead the play group). This is the perfect position for teachers who have stepped out of the classroom to care for their own children.

    Responsibilities

    Be on-site at 155 Main St. facility (Cindy's Place) for shift hours every week.

    Lead group circle time and art experience.

    Prep space as needed and clean up as needed.

    Monitor space for safety concerns and redirect children as needed.

    Ensure usage of PlaySpace is in accordance with posted guidelines.

    Ensure PlaySpace is a welcoming and inclusive place for parents and kiddos to participate in a play group.

    Other duties as assigned by the PlaySpace Director.

    Qualifications

    Prior experience working with families and children/youth required.

    Degree or training in early childhood development required.

    Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills required.

    Personal commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is required.

    Compensation

    $18 to $20/hr for 2.5 hrs at a time, 1-2x a week. Bring your child to work with you! One or two days a week are available. $100 signing bonus to be paid after successful completion of 3-month probationary period.
