    Description

The Pennsylvania Policy Center is looking for a campaign intern to assist the statewide Campaign Director. For too long, we have let politicians who serve the interests of corporations and the rich divide us based on what we look like, where we come from, where we worship, how much money we have, or whether we are native-born or immigrants. Our campaign advocates for bold action from state lawmakers and candidates to build a stronger, healthier, and more just future.

The Campaign Intern will support the Campaign Director in overseeing statewide issue based campaigns. This is a part-time paid position, ideal for students or recent graduates interested in public policy, advocacy, and campaign management starting late summer and through the fall semester. Ideally, we are searching for a candidate in northeastern PA but will consider or PA locations. Occasional statewide travel may be required.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in coordinating community conversations with state candidates and federal officials.
    • Help organize, turnout, and carry out media events.
    • Assist with the dissemination of campaign materials through social media, websites, text messages, phone banking, and email.
    • Represent the organization at meetings and public events.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Current student or recent graduate in public policy, political science, sociology, communications, or a related field.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Commitment to economic, racial, and gender justice and equity.
    • Passion for progressive public policy and advocacy.
    • Willing to engage with state leaders and networking opportunities
    • Flexible work hours
