    Hours Per Week:6 to 12 hours a week for 9 to 12 weeks of fall semester

    Description

    The Staffing the Mission project of Fund the People project spotlights burnout nonprofit jobs and promotes funders' and managers' efforts to increase staff pay and satisfaction.

    INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

    Intern will assist the Staffing the Mission Coordinator in researching nonprofits that have improved job quality and their funders, by:

    • Doing online research into nonprofits and foundations committed to upgrading nonprofit workplaces

    • Maintaining database of potential interviewees and collaborators

    • If skills allow, conducting interviews with stakeholders at nonprofits and funders

    • Managing data such as interview transcripts and online documents about the upgraded workplaces

    • Researching equity-minded conferences and updating a conference calendar

    • Increasing social media traffic for Staffing the Mission blogs, vlogs, publications, etc., including by creating and posting memes and website materials (including videos if skills allow)

    • Assist with tech for online events

    • and other tasks as needed

    Internship contracts are on a semester-by-semester basis, for a minimum of 9 and maximum of 12 weeks, 7 to 12 hours a week @ $16/hour for undergraduates (or $18/hour for grad students in digital communications or philanthropy or nonprofit management programs; $20 for recent grads with BA/BS). Currently we are looking for a fall 2024 intern, but will also review applications for spring and summer 2025.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS

    • Demonstrated commitment to economic justice, intersectional anti-racism, and progressive change. 

    •  Experience with online research

    •  Detail oriented, with experience in entering and keeping track of detailed information

    Helpful: Experience networking with and interviewing strangers, especially in a social science context; personal experience working low-paid nonprofit jobs; WordPress or other html web editing; video editing; experience with foundations and/or nonprofit organizations
