    Description

    The Choice, Inc. is managing the recruitment and employment of a Staff Accountant. This will be a long-term temporary position (6-8 months) with our client, a firm that provides quality insurance, financial, and other programs and services to social workers.

    The organization is located in Frederick, MD. This is a fully in-office position.

    This position could have potential for temporary to hire, depending on the organization's 2025 hiring needs.

    This position would be a good fit for candidates who have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration or similar focus preferred
    • At least one year of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a non-profit or government industry
    • Experience with QuickBooks and Excel
    • Full availability to work in the office

    Job Duties will include:

    Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts

    Preparing financial statements-balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position

    • Preparing journal entries, data maintenance, and bank account reconciliations
    • Managing month end, quarter end and year end closing activities
    • Verifying bank accounts daily, including deposits
    • Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury
    • Assisting with audits & conducting internal audits
    • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
    • Responding to information requests & reviewing financial statements
    • Performing other duties as assigned
