PSFamily NYC’s specialty is in supporting in-home day care providers with navigating the ever-changing DOE requirements. They do this by closely working with parents, teachers, and the DOE to serve as a connector between all of these complex areas. They work with parents to explain to them what financial assistance is available that they would not otherwise know if navigating the DOE maze and the internet on their own. They work with teachers to assist with student enrollments and organizing workshops specifically catered to in-home daycares. They work with the DOE to plan coaching seminars and review facility protocols such as COVID-19 biosafety (to name just a few).

PS Family NYC accomplishes this because they were awarded a contract by the City specifically to engage in this work. As an approved supervisor of family child care providers in Brooklyn and Queens, it is their fiduciary duty to provide this service. In addition, since they are a small organization, they have the ability to tailor their projects and programs to meet the needs of specific in-home daycares that would otherwise receive generic instruction from the City.

PS Family NYC also works closely with the Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS), a City agency that assists PS Family NYC with updating safety protocols to meet and exceed constantly revised DOE policies.
