Our MissionOakland Unified School District (OUSD) will build a Full Service Community District focused on high academic achievement while serving the whole child, eliminating inequity, and providing each child with excellent teachers, every day.
Our Vision
All OUSD students will find joy in their academic experience while graduating with the skills to ensure they are caring, competent, fully-informed, critical thinkers who are prepared for college, career, and community success.The Transitional Families UnitThe Transitional Students & Families Unit (TSF) is part of the OUSD's Family, Schools, and Community Partnerships Department. TSF provides supplemental support services to Foster youth, Refugee & Asylee students, and students with uncertain or unstable housing (McKinney Vento/Homeless). The Unit’s services include enrollment assistance; school supplies and transportation assistance; parent/guardian workshops; academic counseling;summer programming; referrals to school-based and community-based educational, social, and emotional support services; and support to school site staff. Specific services vary by individual student needs and each program's mandates.
