The Office of State Senator Julia Salazar

  • About Us

Senator Salazar represents the 18th Senate District, which is much of North Brooklyn, including Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bushwick, Cypress Hills, and more. Upon her election in 2018, she became the youngest woman elected in the history of the New York State Senate. Senator Salazar is a strong supporter of tenant rights, criminal justice reform, equal protection for women, and immigration justice. She is a recognized leader in the fight for tenants’ rights and against the power of the New York City real estate lobby, playing a key role in assuring the enactment in 2019 of the strongest legislative protections for tenants in NYS history, and is the current sponsor of the Good Cause eviction bill, which would prevent retaliatory evictions and further protect tenants. Senator Salazar is the current chair of the Crime Victims, Crime, and Corrections committee. For more on Senator Salazar, click the link.
