    Maryland Environmental Trust (MET), a state-wide land trust, is one of the oldest and most successful land trusts in the country. Created in 1967 as a quasi public entity, MET has grown to hold more than 1,040 conservation easements forever protecting over 129,000 acres of farms, forests, waterways, and historic and scenic resources.
