The San Francisco Bay Area Network is one of 32 National Park Service Inventory and Monitoring Networks across the country. These networks leverage collaboration, information sharing, and economies of scale to monitor natural resources in our national parks.
Our network consists of 11 national parks along the central California coast, though most of our work takes place in those that include sizable natural landscapes. These parks conserve some of the most significant examples of Mediterranean-type ecosystems and coastal marine environments anywhere in the world. We manage 13 long-term monitoring programs.
