    Based in New York since 2009, Martha has made a name for herself across the globe, performing at esteemed venues such as Blue Note, Jazz Standard, and Dizzy’s Club. Known for her eclectic blend of West African, South American, and jazz influences, her music strikes a captivating balance between improvisation and composition.

    Martha Kato’s debut album, Tales from The Trees (2016), was lauded by Jazz Life magazine, and her long-anticipated second album Solúna was released worldwide in 2023. As an award-winning artist, Martha has received the ASCAP Foundation Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award and has contributed to Grammy-nominated projects, showcasing her versatile talent in big bands and smaller ensembles alike.
