    The Senior Health Policy Analyst is a full-time position requiring remote office set up and travel to clients and conferences. To be successful, you must be eager to learn, an excellent writer, well-versed in policy research, provide clear communications, active listener, detail-oriented, driven, and can flex in multiple environments in a dynamic health policy and program team environment of both remote and locally based experts.

    To be eligible for the position you must have some working knowledge and experience with Medicaid policies, managed care policy, and systems change efforts inclusive of health-related social needs (social determinants of health) obtained through work experience, internships, or education.

    The Senior Health Policy Analyst is expected to track and monitor both state and federal policy at the legislative and agency level; research, track, and analyze policies for staff and clients; write and synthesize complex information into technical and consumable written documents, draft issue briefs, PowerPoint, work plans, blog posts, and more. It is anticipated the Policy Analyst will do some client-facing work and is expected to do some public speaking.

    Key responsibilities:

    Analyze and research health policy topics related to our firm’s work in Medicaid, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), managed care, and more; connect new trends in health care to the work we do.

    Design and be responsible for internal tracking methods to follow specific new and existing policies impacting Medicaid or other health programs.

    Build the capacity of the policy team by applying daily project management skills using project management tools such as TeamWork to prioritize policy research efforts underpinning all of our projects across the firm.

    Facilitate training, lead group discussions, conduct key informant interviews, and inform discussions with the policy team to implement, manage, and produce deliverables for complex policy projects.

    Write policy summaries, draft PowerPoints, and other supporting materials such as literature reviews from primary sources to educate staff and potential clients including drafting policy materials, writing promotional blogs, case studies, and issue briefs.

    Monitor and track legislation and policy developments related to Medicaid, ACA, Medicaid waivers including 1115 or 1332 waivers, some Medicare issues, and brief staff and clients on policy updates both written and orally.

    Provide research and data analysis on health policy issues and connect new trends in health care and the work we do.

    Attend and take notes at meetings, conferences, and webinars and share those learnings with the team to expand our knowledge base.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Master’s degree with a focus in health, law, or public policy is required.

    Strong oral and written communication skills.

    Excellent time manager, clear communicator, familiarity with project management style tools, and meets deadlines when completing tasks and deliverables.

    Detail-oriented, self-directing, eager to learn health systems change work, and wants to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.

    Proficient in all Microsoft Office 365 required, but experience with Salesforce CRM and other remote-office-based tools a plus.
