    About the Role:

    The Director of Administration will be responsible for overseeing edCount's day-to-day administrative operations, including accounting and finance, business administration, human resources, travel management, and corporate culture initiatives. This is a critical leadership role, requiring a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced, virtual environment. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient business operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Serve as a senior member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), contributing to strategic decision-making and policy development
    • Partner with SLT members to design and implement effective organizational processes and systems

    Accounting & Finance:

    • Oversee relationships with external accounting and tax partners
    • Lead financial planning, including forecasting for cash flow, budgeting, and ensuring financial stability
    • Manage financial operations, including adjustments, journal entries, invoicing, tax preparations, and internal controls
    • Prepare financial reports for the CEO and SLT to support informed decision-making
    • Evaluate and enhance financial systems as needed for operational efficiency

    Business Administration:

    • Manage vendor procurement, business insurance, and compliance with state regulations
    • Oversee IT operations in partnership with external IT vendors, ensuring smooth technology infrastructure and setup for new employees
    • Continuously explore and implement new systems to improve office management and efficiency

    Human Resources (HR):

    • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and maintain HR policy adherence
    • Lead onboarding, payroll processing, employee benefits management, and the process for annual performance reviews
    • Collaborate on compensation and staffing decisions while managing personnel-related issues with HR consultants
    • Research and implement new HR systems to enhance organizational performance

    Travel & Compliance:

    • Review and approve employee travel requests, ensuring compliance with company policies
    • Maintain and improve travel management systems for ease of use and efficiency

    Corporate Culture:

    • Lead and coordinate corporate events and initiatives to promote a positive, inclusive company culture
    • Provide support to ensure that all staff and projects align with edCount's core values and cultural guidelines

    Required Qualifications & Skills:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
    • Experience: 10+ years of experience in human resources, accounting, and business administration

    Skills:

    • Expertise with Box, QuickBooks Online, and the MS Suite of applications
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse teams
    • Proven ability to analyze complex data and forecast project impacts
    • Expertise in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
    • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
