Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana

  • Sobre Nós

“The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers." Juliette Gordon Low

It began over 100 years ago with one woman, Girl Scouts’ founder Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low, who believed in the power of every girl. She organized the first Girl Scout troop on March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, and every year since, we've made her vision a reality: helping girls discover their strengths, passions, and talents.

Our council, the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana (GSGCNWI), was formed when seven councils in Greater Chicago and nearby Indiana merged on July 1, 2008. Today, GSGCNWI is one of the largest councils in the country. Our dedicated employees work with over 20, 000 volunteers, out of 6 Gathering Places, 6 campground properties, and virtually to reach 52,000 girls in 245 communities throughout 10 counties in Illinois and Indiana. .

We provide a business-casual work environment that fosters community and family among staff. We are collaborative, enterprising, and passionate about our mission. We make history every day and we love it! We also enjoy a generous benefits package which includes many perks such as: schedule/worksite flexibility, casual dress code, commuter benefits, and summer hours. Together with volunteers and interns, we build an environment where any girl can be empowered to define her future.

Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana welcomes all who are committed to our mission to join us. If you are looking to make a difference with your job, visit our employment page and submit an application for consideration.
