    Who We Are:

    YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School is a tuition-free, public charter high school, with a singular focus on supporting youth aged 17-20 who have been pushed out of traditional schools. During our 1-year alternative program, YouthBuild facilitates a warm, loving culture that uses a variety of structures to build community, such as a restorative-justice approach to discipline, weekly community meetings, and school-wide service projects. Students are empowered to attain their high school diploma and vocational certifications, while receiving unconditional support by the staff around them.     The Opportunity:

    YouthBuild Philadelphia is seeking an executive assistant to support CEO Le’Yondo Dunn in leading the organization with vision and efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a dynamic and mission-driven leader, a committed Board of Trustees, and a passionate team dedicated to transforming the lives of young people in Philadelphia. As the executive assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the CEO’s time is focused on the highest-impact work by handling administrative and operational tasks, managing communications, and providing strategic support. This is not just a scheduling role—it is an opportunity to be a trusted partner, anticipating needs, streamlining processes, and contributing to a collaborative and inspiring work environment where great leadership and big ideas drive real change.

    Who You Are:

    You are/have…

    • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
    • A minimum of 3-5 years of administrative work experience (education and/or non-profit experience preferred)
    • Superb organizational, project management, self-management, and problem-solving skills
    • A master of execution – you anticipate needs, create structure out of chaos, and ensure the CEO’s time is focused on strategic priorities.
    • Detail-oriented and resourceful – you catch what others miss, solve problems before they arise, and create seamless systems that support the CEO.
    • Exceptional communication skills, including writing, editing, and preparing executive-level materials.
    • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion, handling sensitive matters professionally.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management tools.
    • Deep alignment with YouthBuild’s mission and commitment to educational equity.
    • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

    What You’ll Do:

    Executive Support + Operations:

    • Serve as the CEO’s right hand, ensuring their time and energy are focused on the highest-priority work.
    • Manage the CEO’s calendar, scheduling, and time optimization, ensuring seamless coordination of meetings, travel, and engagements.
    • Oversee logistics and project management for executive-level meetings, including leadership team meetings, all-staff meetings, and funder visits.
    • Prepare the CEO for meetings with briefing materials, agendas, and post-meeting follow-ups.
    • Draft and edit executive communications, presentations, and reports.
    • Coordinate invoicing, expense reports, reimbursements, and travel for the CEO.
    • Act as a point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
    • Research, prioritize, and follow up on high-priority issues, determining appropriate courses of action or responses.
    • Maintain organized records, systems, and workflows to ensure executive operations run efficiently.
    • Provide occasional support for personal tasks to enable the CEO to focus on organizational priorities.

    Board of Trustees Support:

    • Schedule all Board and committee meetings, ensuring materials are prepared and distributed in advance.
    • Draft, edit, and distribute meeting agendas, reports, and minutes in collaboration with the CEO and Board Chair.
    • Support board governance by ensuring compliance with bylaws and maintaining organized records.
    • Assist in coordinating Board member recruitment, onboarding, and engagement.
    • Manage logistics for Board retreats, special events, and governance activities.
    • Serve as a liaison between the CEO and Board of Trustees, ensuring clear communication and responsiveness to key matters.

    Salary Range:

    New YouthBuild staff can expect a starting salary of between $50,000-$60,000 based on years of experience, education, and certifications, if applicable.
