    Reports to: Development Director

    Start Date: February 2025

    Salary range: $75,000-$100,000

Location: Remote with occasional in-person time

Greenlight America is a new organization that mobilizes grassroots power to win local siting and permitting campaigns for clean energy projects. We do this by partnering with local groups and activists to run strategic campaigns that win approval for clean energy projects in their communities. Our founding team has led some of the largest grassroots organizing networks in the country, and we are building a scalable model for engaging and mobilizing local residents in support of clean energy.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Institutional Giving Manager will play a critical role in securing C3 and C4 institutional funding towards Greenlight America’s mission and vision. This role will primarily be responsible for growing Greenlight's portfolio of institutional funding from foundations and other granting organizations that support the clean energy transition. The role will prioritize increasing unrestricted support and also cultivate new donors who give restricted support, such as regional funders. The Institutional Giving Manager will report to the Development Director and will work closely with the entire philanthropy team to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new institutional donors as well as maintain relationships with existing institutional donors, playing a key role in supporting Greenlight’s 2025 revenue goals of $7.5 million in c3 and c4 support.

The ideal candidate will not only have successful grant-writing experience and excellent writing, research, and organizational skills but will be familiar with grant writing in the climate and clean energy space. This position is an excellent opportunity to work with a start up nonprofit that has noted recent successes with local clean energy campaigns that will advance 4.4 GW of clean energy to the grid, avoiding approximately 2 million tons of GHG emissions annually.

The position is remote and reports to the Development Director.

    PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Partner with the Development Director to implement Greenlight’s institutional giving strategy through relationship management and tailored pitches.
    • Lead new proposal development, including regularly updating Greenlight’s general operating support proposal as well as partnering with Greenlight’s CEO to draft new pitches to meet the specific interests of donors.
    • Implement and lead Greenlight’s regional institutional donor strategy to help secure resources from funders interested in clean energy deployment in specific geographies (e.g., Midwest or Northwest). This will include partnership with the Senior Associate to research prospects, as well as coordinating pitch development and relationship mapping strategy to secure meetings.
    • Develop and update schedule of grant applications and reporting deadlines for current and potential funders.
    • Ensure receipt, recording, and recognition of grants from institutional funders.
    • Work with the Senior Associate of Partnerships to prepare required grant reports and other materials
    • Monitor and maintain grant expenditures and activities to ensure that grant funds are spent down correctly and in a timely manner.
