STAR MH Foundation, Inc. is a lasting memory of Brandy Brooks nephew, Bryce Walker, who was only a 14-year-old teenager, died by suicide September 10, 2023. She vowed to continue building awareness around a topic that we see far too much stigma around and to help other families avoid experiences that her family encountered. To help put an end to this heart-wrenching epidemic, Brandy developed STAR MH Foundation, Inc. Support Teen Awareness and Recognize Mental Health.
STAR MH Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing assistance with financial support, including funeral expenses, monument, plot purchase, etc to families who have tragically lost a loved one to youth suicide. Through our dedicated efforts and the generosity of our supporters, we are committed to alleviating the financial burden often associated with such devastating losses. By extending a helping hand in their time of need, we hope to offer solace and comfort to those navigating the profound grief and trauma of youth suicide loss. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these families and demonstrate that they are not alone on their journey towards healing and recovery.
Not every journey is easy; for some, it may be difficult to talk about their feelings, thoughts about suicide, or how to get help. By working together to educate ourselves and recognize the warning signs, raise awareness of suicide, and include open conversation with each other so that you can make a difference and save lives. We envision a community-free of suicide that embraces the importance of quality mental health prevention. Be the Change. Be the Light.
