    Job Summary:

    The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, the nation's leading gun violence prevention organization, has an exciting opening for a Manager of Events and Leadership Councils. Joining a well-established development team, this individual will manage the Northern California Leadership Council, made up of 50 members, and the National Leadership Council, made up of 100 members across the United States with regional chairs in New York, Chicago, DC and Southern California. The ideal candidate has experience planning and executing both small and large fundraising events to budget, and is a highly organized, strategic thinker who effectively sets priorities and solves problems while building and maintaining productive relationships.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Events

    • Develop, plan and implement high-quality fundraising events that are mission-focused and aligned to cultivate and steward current donors, volunteers and prospects.
    • Signature Events: Manage two 7-figure signature events in conjunction with outside consultants
      • Work closely with internal and external team to create a mission-focused program, create positive and powerful attendee experiences
      • Responsible for managing budget and contracts for the event, and coordinating the solicitation of sponsorships and ticket sales, to meet revenue goals
      • Strategize appropriate fundraising approach including sponsor level details and key prospects
      • Manage the creation of event collateral including registration pages, save the dates, invitations, website updates, graphics and video
      • Write and manage communication on behalf of executive staff to donors including on event invitations, solicitations, cultivation, and follow-up messaging, and diligently track outreach and fundraising progress
      • Manage the logistics of a robust guest experience including VIP guest treatment, hospitality, fundraising software, seating arrangements, etc.
    • Small Events: Support donors who wish to host intimate fundraising events in their homes.
      • Work with internal team to establish event goals, budgets, and work in partnership to create and execute impactful programs
      • Liaise with the event host to facilitate their needs with invitation lists, planning and execution of the event.

    Leadership Councils

    • Manage Brady’s Northern California Leadership Council and National Leadership Council, developing and implementing strategies to deepen member engagement with Brady
    • Work with Northern California chairs to develop goals supporting recruitment and fundraising efforts and develop meeting agendas and support logistics for those meetings, some virtual and some in-person, as needed
    • Work with regional chairs of the National Leadership Council to support recruitment and fundraising efforts
    • Work across the organization to engage and solicit council members, and create virtual events for the National Leadership Council and other valued partners, including the development of agendas and logistics support.
    • Expected travel for this position could range up to 25% for Regional Leadership quarterly meetings, events

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • 2-4 years of experience managing fundraising events
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage volunteers, affinity groups and/or committees (i.e. advisory councils, leadership committees, etc.)
    • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, including the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships
    • Ability to inspire and motivate others to find consensus, achieve collaborative problem-solving and issue resolution
    • Highly motivated self-starter and ability to work independently and set priorities to meet deadlines
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to track multiple priorities simultaneously with a keen eye for detail
    • Ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality
    • Strong team player who knows how to collaborate, provide support across the team, and when to escalate issues
    • Fast mover and thinker with high level of creativity able to problem solve on their feet in event situations
    • Ability to build and manage budgets and negotiate with vendors
    • Proven success in planning and implementing events preferred
    • Appreciation of data to inform and drive decisions
    • Experience with ROI (or similar CRM) and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

    Compensación

    The salary range for this position is $64,000 to $74,000 annually, with the exact salary depending on experience. Competitive benefits include employer-funded health, dental, and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts; pre-tax parking and transit accounts; 403(B) plan with discretionary employer match; Employer-paid basic life and AD&D coverage; reimbursement for cell phone use; Headspace subscription;16 weeks paid parental leave; unlimited PTO plus paid week closure at the end of the calendar year; and eleven paid federal holidays.
