Volunteer and help these disadvantaged children with homework guidance and fun after-school activities.
Many children in Nepal lack attention and good nutrition. Their families are poor and do not have the time or money to support them. After their school day, these children spend the rest of the day taking care of their fellow siblings or roaming the streets. Most of these children end up leaving school early and find work as child labourers in restaurants, factories or trash collectors. To help these children, Volunteer World Nepal set up an after-school childcare program. Here, children get guidance with their homework and get to create art, connect through music, dance, and play games.
The general role of the volunteer will be to act as a homework guide and activity organizer. To encourage the children in their studies and good behaviour, and to help them develop socially, academically, and confidently. Volunteers will teach the children general life skills, including health and sanitation, as well as arts, crafts, dance and music. Volunteers can also organize tours, games, drawing classes, singing, dancing, painting and other creative activities that the children enjoy.
Volunteers do not need any qualifications to help in a childcare project in Nepal, but it will be a more enjoyable experience if you are enthusiastic and approachable.
