    Job Summary

    Mountain Valor Foundation seeks a motivated Program Director to oversee its Colorado-based retreats for veterans and first responders. This role involves managing outdoor therapeutic programs, ensuring their alignment with the organization’s mission, and fostering meaningful community connections. The Program Director will collaborate closely with the Executive Director, mental health professionals, and volunteers to deliver impactful experiences while ensuring operational excellence.

    Disclosure: As MVF is in its growth phase, this position is currently an unpaid volunteer-based position with flexible time requirements. The incumbent who volunteers, is selected, and fills this role, dedicating their time, passion, and loyalty to helping us continue to grow will be offered a secured salaried employment position based upon successful fundraising efforts.     Key Responsibilities

    Program Leadership and Design

    • Develop and oversee the structure and delivery of therapeutic retreats, integrating activities like camping, fishing, and hunting with holistic practices such as yoga, mindfulness, and nutrition counseling.
    • Align program objectives with MVF’s mission to empower veterans and first responders through healing and adventure.
    • Continuously evaluate program impact, leveraging participant feedback for ongoing improvements.

    Operations Management

    • Coordinate all logistical aspects of retreats, including transportation, lodging, meals, and outdoor equipment.
    • Cultivate partnerships with vendors and service providers to secure high-quality resources and cost-effective solutions.
    • Manage operational budgets to ensure efficient use of resources while delivering exceptional participant experiences.

    Community and Peer Engagement

    • Promote peer-to-peer connections among participants to foster long-term support networks and reduce feelings of isolation.
    • Collaborate with the online community management team to ensure retreat participants continue receiving support post-retreat.

    Therapeutic Integration

    • Work alongside mental health and holistic health professionals to ensure programs address PTSD recovery and emotional well-being.
    • Monitor and report on the therapeutic outcomes of retreats, such as reductions in PTSD symptoms and enhanced mental resilience.

    Team and Volunteer Management

    • Recruit, train, and lead volunteers and staff to ensure effective program execution.
    • Build a positive team culture centered on MVF’s mission and values.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in program management, particularly in outdoor or therapeutic settings.
    • Familiarity with PTSD recovery practices, veteran or first responder needs, and holistic health approaches.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for creating positive community impact.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (preferred but not required).
    • Military or first responder experience is a plus.
