    The ICCT seeks a highly motivated and committed full-time Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Associate Researcher in our Beijing office. You will contribute to ICCT’s efforts to establish a high-quality charging infrastructure network that will enable an accelerated transition to electric vehicles to meet climate targets. The successful candidate will focus on analyzing the challenges and gaps in charging infrastructure development and exploring the technologies, policies, business models, and mechanisms that could help address these challenges and close the gaps.

    You Will:

    • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on the current status, future demands, challenges, and solutions for electric vehicle charging infrastructure deployment.
    • Conduct analyses on the necessity, feasibility, and practical approaches to promote vehicle-grid integration.
    • Apply algorithms, models, and computer scripts necessary to support quantitative analyses of electric vehicle charging infrastructure deployment and vehicle-grid integration.
    • Review and summarize policies, databases, and scientific literature related to electric vehicle charging infrastructure deployment and vehicle-grid integration.
    • Author or co-author research reports to communicate research findings and policy recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Prepare presentations and present findings in public forums, such as workshops and conferences, as well as in private forums, including invite-only stakeholder meetings and policymaker briefings.
    • Engage with external stakeholders, including government officials, global delegates, non-governmental organizations, academics, and industry representatives.
    • Support or lead the preparation of outreach materials, such as WeChat blog posts, and assist with organizing outreach activities such as webinars and workshops.
    • Review the work of colleagues and consultants on related projects.

    You Have:

    • A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Environmental Science & Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills with common tools used for data analysis (e.g., Python, Matlab, R, SQL, ArcGIS).
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, along with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Relevant work or research experience in related areas (e.g., electric vehicle charging infrastructure, vehicle-grid integration, electric power systems) is preferred.
    • Experience working with policymakers, NGOs, industries, or other stakeholders is a plus.

    Our Benefits

    This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position based in ICCT’s Beijing office with a salary of ¥282,083. We offer an excellent benefits package, including health insurance, paid vacation, hybrid/remote flexibilities, transportation subsidies, and other benefits.
