Overview
The Bay Area Center for Faith, Work & Tech (faithworktech.org) is a Christian non-profit ministry in the San Francisco Bay Area, founded in 2024. Our mission is to cultivate faith and work integration to transform people who are transforming the world.
We are seeking a Communications and Engagement Manager to help develop the strategies and lead the execution of marketing communications, fundraising, and events.
The role is a full-time position* involving some in-person work in the San Francisco Bay Area and remote work. Salary will be commensurate with experience – target range is $80,000-100,000 for full-time position.
Duties & Responsibilities
Communications
- Working with the Executive Directors and/or Operations Director, develop a marketing communications strategy, including social media, Slack/online community engagement platform, newsletters, website management, graphic design, slide decks, and more.
- Source, hire, and manage a content leader, social media agency, website firm, graphic designers, and other external resources to implement the strategy and ensure alignment between marcomms, development, events, and other aspects of operations.
- Recruit and manage volunteer team for some implementation needs
- Identify and edit high quality content from existing FWT materials (curriculum videos, testimonies, articles, book reviews, etc.).
- Write, edit, and produce new content (social media posts; copy for website, promotional materials, newsletters, presentations) in line with FWT Brand Guidelines.
Fundraising
- Working with the Executive Directors and/or Operations Director, develop a fundraising strategy, including tactics targeted to major and mid-tier donors and general giving groups.
- Write, edit, and produce donor communications, such as emails, promotional materials, and presentations.
- Develop and manage the execution of a donor cultivation and engagement plan.
- Develop a grant application strategy and manage the grant writing, submission, and management process.
- Manage the planning and execution of donor events.
- Manage the donor database and donor operations.
Events
- Lead the planning and execution of annual Summit and other events, including:
- Develop and drive the execution of detailed event management plan including deadlines and key milestones
- Prepare budget, manage expenses to budget, and provide regular reports on income & expenses
- Plan, drive the solicitation of, and manage event sponsors, partners, and exhibitors
- Work with marcomms resources to execute marketing and promotional activities
- Arrange event services and manage vendors including venue staff, refreshments, on site décor & signage, furnishings & equipment, materials, and event support staff (as needed)
- Drive the development and implementation of all event requirements including registration/ticketing platform & process and event mobile app
- Recruit and manage volunteers as needed
- Oversee event day-of operations
Requirements
- Three or more years of experience in marketing communications, fundraising, and event management, preferably with faith-based non-profit organizations
- High capacity leadership, capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Is organized, detail-oriented, and high energy – must be self-directed and able to work and solve problems independently and able to multi-task and perform under stress and rapidly changing conditions
- Outstanding communication (written & verbal) and collaboration skills
- Strong partner relationship capabilities: ability to work with a wide variety of people
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, and operationally-minded
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization as it evolves and scales
- Believes in and supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization
Other Requirements
- Is available to work during normal business hours (Pacific Time) as well as some evenings and weekends as programs and events require (exact working hours can be flexible; most work will be remote/not in-person)
- Identifies as a Protestant Christian
- Lives in San Francisco Bay Area and must have reliable personal transportation (mileage will be reimbursed at the standard government rate)
- Would consider an 80% time role (vs. full-time)
