Description
Legal Services of New Jersey, an Edison-based non-profit legal assistance organization, has an opening for a paralegal/case manager (termed a “case coordinator”) to assist low income disabled welfare recipients in making claims for federal SSI/SSDIB benefits. Under the supervision of an attorney, you will interview clients, develop, coordinate and present documented applications, and pursue appeals.
Any prior experience filing Social Security (SSA/SSI) disability applications, helping people faced with physical and psychological impairments and analyzing medical records will be a plus. A four year college degree, experience in a related fieldwork, Spanish fluency, excellent written and oral communications skills and clear commitment to social justice are requisites.
