    The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is seeking a Director, Corporate Relations. IDSA is a community of over 13,000 physicians, scientists and public health experts who specialize in infectious diseases.     The Director, Corporate Relations will lead the business development strategy for the IDSA Foundation corporate relations team; deepen and broaden corporate financial support and work closely with the Vice President, Business Development and other leaders to achieve annual fundraising goals. This role is responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing relationship building plans for industry partners including prospecting, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

    This role will leverage relationships to secure financial support, sponsorships, and in-kind contributions while ensuring alignment with the organization’s values and objectives.

    Qualifications

    Characteristic Essential Responsibilities

    Strategic Oversight and Development:

    • In collaboration with the VP, Business Development, develops and executes an annual, comprehensive fundraising strategic plan that includes specific fundraising goals and targets, which increases organizational sustainability, year-round industry relations cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, with a focus on the acquisition of annual investments at or above the $25,000.
    • Manages the development and delivery of proposals in response to requests for support consideration; prepare and deliver pitch decks and related presentations

    Collaboration, Communication, and Partnership Management:

    • Manage the operation of all funded partnership opportunities with companies (primarily pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, and medical device companies) and other organizations with an interest in infectious diseases, infectious diseases research and/or ID Specialist workforce development
    • Works collaboratively and cooperatively with IDSA Foundation, VP Business Development, Director-level staff and maintain working knowledge of programmatic priorities and issues to ensure the most strategic partner-driven strategies
    • Coordinate across departments to ensure appropriate recognition is executed for all industry partners through applicable marketing channels and at relevant events

    Impact Measurement, Budgeting, and Reporting:

    • Monitors, evaluates, and reports on a regular basis on the industry partners pipeline and funnel of prospects; track proposals and report on target deadlines to ensure timely response and completion
    • Assesses market opportunities on an on-going basis for new sponsorship prospects and opportunities, market needs, and other trends in the industry
    • Develops, manages, and reports on a cost-effective budget for revenue and expenses related to industry fundraising programs and goals; oversee production of related progress to goals reports to senior leadership and Board members.

    Leadership and Team Management:

    • Supervises, coaches, develops, and mentors a team of fundraisers focused on growing new industry partnerships while sustaining current relationships.
    • Outlines clear accountability and success measures for managing critical projects and programs
    • Plans and manages team capacity effectively
    • Models a coaching style for feedback and learning to support staff in contributing at highest levels
    • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience can be submitted.
    • At least 10 years of related experience with increasing responsibilities in fundraising or similar field, preferably in healthcare, infectious diseases, or HIV.
    • Broad understanding of corporate sponsorship and partnership fundraising models.
    • Familiarity with donor database management and systems to track donor history, interests, and activity; use data and research to guide development program priorities.
    • Project management and staff leadership experience, including proven ability to build passion toward goals, motivate, lead, set objectives, and manage the performance of a Board of Directors or a volunteer team.

    • Ability to develop and execute long-term cultivation and solicitation strategies for large corporations.

    • Excellent communications skills – written, verbal and listening; use proven interpersonal skills to negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

    • Strong computer skills, intermediate MS Office skills, Google Analytics, and a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

    Additional Qualifications: (Such as certifications, industry-specific experience and the experience working with certain equipment)

    • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) credential is preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SalesForce, RelSci, LinkedIn Navigator, and other account management and research tools is preferred.
    • Advanced degree a plus

    Travel Requirements

    • Must be able to travel up to 30% of time to attend IDSA-related events and industry events, and to cultivate and solicit new and renewing partners and to er proposals and steward existing partners is required

    Physical Demands

    • This job requires sitting and/or standing at a desk, prolonged sitting and bending and lifting during travel, as well as extensive sitting, standing, walking, and lifting during IDWeek.
    • This role also requires access to stable internet, and ability to spend several hours on the computer.
