    The Asian University for Women Support Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)3 nonprofit which is responsible for international resource mobilization and communications for the Asian University for Women (AUW). Opened in 2008, AUW is an international, liberal arts university which seeks to cultivate the region’s next generation of female leaders. With a student body of 1000 hailing from 18 different countries, AUW promotes the ethos of cross-cultural understanding, academic curiosity, and ethical leadership. AUWSF provides a fast-paced work environment with new projects frequently on the horizon and strong opportunity for growth.

    Job Description

    AUWSF is seeking individuals who are passionate about increasing accessibility within higher education, engaging in humanitarian and gender rights’ advocacy, and identifying expansive solutions to meet student need. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Program Associate is responsible for the analysis, research, and writing associated with development activities. The Program Associate will gain experience working with a variety of sectors, including private/philanthropic, public, governmental, and intergovernmental on an international scale. She or he will produce materials such as funding proposals, grant reports, prospect research, and media releases. When appropriate, the Program Associate may attend meetings to maintain donor relations or make solicitations. This position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and values flexibility to work on different projects. The candidate must be a resident of Massachusetts. International travels to Bangladesh and other parts of Asia is possible.

    Responsibilities

    • Produce written materials such as funding proposals and grant reports which leverage research and Foundation relationships with donors to achieve fundraising goals. Other materials may include prospect research on new donors, media releases, letters to external constituents, and presentations to donors;
    • Conduct outreach to individuals, corporations, and foundations who are new prospects;
    • Cultivate relationships with a portfolio of donors, mostly individuals;
    • Implement adequate donor stewardship practices;
    • Work closely with the President and CEO to develop projects within the fundraising workstream;
    • Work closely with other development staff on implementing new projects.

    Professional Experience/Qualifications

    Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills required; previous development experience is preferred but not required. Outgoing personality, confident public speaking, and professional organization and phone skills are necessary. Experience with Raiser’s Edge fundraising software is a plus. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
