    Description

    Our client, a higher education health association has an immediate need for a Director of Governance. The need is immediate, and could be someone on a temporary basis, but the ideal scenario is to find someone that could be a temporary to hire candidate.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience working with association board of directors or senior executives in a governance related role.
    • Expert level oral and written communication skills.
    • Experience drafting and/or writing bylaws, public facing policies and operational procedures.
    • Experience with planning logistics for meetings and events.
    • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly.
    • Demonstrate professional experience maintaining effective interpersonal communications with, and responsiveness to, all parties to drive collaboration and operational excellence.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Facilitates Board of Directors processes, developing and updating standard operating procedures, managing call for nominations and elections, planning and facilitating the House of Delegates, and maintaining the handbook and bylaws.
    • Plan and implements governance function, including preparing for board meetings, drafting and maintaining board minutes and resolutions, and ensuring accurate implementation of board decisions.

    The position is full time, 9am- 5pm with an hour for lunch (35 hour work week). The office follows a hybrid schedule M/F are remote; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday are in DC office.
