    Description

    The Position:

    The Scheduling & Operations Assistant for the Office of Council Member Tiffany Cabán will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling and general operations for the office. Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, the Scheduling & Operations Assistant will work closely with the Council Member to align the office’s schedule and operations with the team’s overall district and legislative priorities.

    Major responsibilities:

    • Manage all incoming meeting and scheduling requests for the Council Member
    • In collaboration with the Chief of Staff, ensure that the Council Member’s daily and advance schedule is aligned with district and legislative priorities
    • Lead outreach and coordination with partners for all scheduling requests
    • Organize and lead routine meetings with the Council Member about scheduling priorities
    • Build strong, reciprocal relationships with key community, government, and labor partners
    • Coordinate logistics for meetings with key advocates, community organizations, and government partners
    • Manage general inquiries and district inbox; draft and lead communications about general office inquiries
    • As needed, support the Chief of Staff with general administrative tasks for the District Office (e.g. organizing materials, ordering materials, invoicing, etc.)
    • As needed, provide general staffing support to all team members
    • In collaboration with full team, occasionally staff Council Member at community events and public forums
    • Serve as a trusted liaison between the District Office and the community

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build relationships with a variety of public stakeholders
    • The ability to stay calm, work efficiently, and remain priorities-driven in a fast-paced environment
    • Comfort with making direct phone calls to a variety of stakeholders
    • A commitment to building a more just, livable New York City; a commitment to empowering everyday New Yorkers to advance bold solutions alongside government partners
    • An interest in public service, city government, and/or community organizing is a plus

    Salary + details:

    • This is a part-time hourly role with an hourly rate of $31.50/hour
    • We are seeking candidates that can support the team around 15 hours a week
    • This is a hybrid role with the opportunity for significant remote work
    • This is a short-term role (4-6 months) with opportunities for growth for the right candidate
    • Candidates must be willing to establish residency in New York City within 90 days of hiring
