    Whip Communications is hiring a Content Associate who will draft social media and digital content, manage editorial calendars, and support other projects as needed. We would like this contractor to be a long-term thought partner and an integral part of the WHIP team.

    ABOUT YOU

    If you’re a strong writer and creative thinker who takes initiative, this role is for you! We envision this role growing and evolving with the skillset of the person who fills it, but here’s what we’re looking for:

    • Strong writing and communication skills
    • 1-2 years of experience in writing, social media, or communications
      • This would be a great fit for a college senior or recent graduate looking to supplement their full-time income
    • A growth mindset and excitement to learn
    • Basic experience — or willingness to learn — Wordpress, social media platforms, Buffer, Mailchimp, and Canva

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    This is an opportunity to gain experience managing communications for some of the largest and most reputable nonprofit organizations across the globe, while also taking the lead on social media projects for locally-based clients.

    This role has two main elements:

    1. Client management: where you’ll be the primary point of contact with a client
    2. Agency support: where Paige is the primary point of contact and you will provide support in a smaller, ad-hoc capacity

    Client Management

    These are the clients whose accounts you will manage on a daily basis. Deliverables include:

    • A NYC-Based Nonprofit Organization
      • Content and graphic creation for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
        • 2 posts per week
        • Replying to comments or messages
      • Weekly email updates in MailChimp
        • Compile relevant news articles and media stories
        • Build an email in Mailchimp and send it out once per week
        • Post the email update as a blog on the website and on social media
      • Monthly Member Update in MailChimp
        • Content is provided
      • Manage client communications
      • Occasional miscellaneous support
        • Create and send occasional update emails in MailChimp
        • Updating website content
        • Update or create materials in Canva, including flyers and digital materials
    • A Philanthropy Advising Organization
      • 1-2 posts per week for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter
        • Content and Graphic creation
        • Engagement, replying to comments or messages
      • Building Email Newsletters in Hubspot
        • Monthly Newsletter to Fiscal Sponsorship Partners
        • Quarterly Newsletter to Advisors and Donors
        • Content is provided
      • Manage Client Communication
        • Monthly 30-Minute Check-In Calls
    • Whip Communications
      • Draft 1 blog per month
      • Content and graphic creation for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest
        • 1 post per week
      • Monthly Newsletter
        • Draft content
        • Build in Mailchimp
      • Weekly check-in calls

    Agency Support

    The types of general support you’ll provide ad-hoc for existing clients where Paige is the main point of contact.

    • Pull monthly social media analytics (example)
    • Drafting social media posts
    • Creating a graphic or reel in Canva (example)
    • Editing or drafting blog posts
    • Research or fact-checking
    • Media relations, including research, pitching, or list-building
    • Engagement, replying to comments or messages
