    The ideal candidate will manage multiple social media accounts, oversee website updates on Squarespace, create engaging written materials, execute strategic marketing campaigns, and contribute to public relations efforts. They will ensure consistent messaging across platforms, monitor trends to inform content strategy, and craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, outstanding written communication skills, and the ability to manage shifting priorities with discretion, adaptability, and professionalism.

    Social Media Management

    • Develop a comprehensive public facing strategy for all initiatives, including non-profit, investment, and business
    • Strategize, create, and manage content for multiple social media accounts across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) to highlight our organization’s philanthropic mission, initiatives, and impact
    • Oversee any elements of the overarching strategy that must be outsourced to contractors
    • Adapt and tailor content to align with the specific messaging, tone, and goals of our various social media accounts, ensuring authenticity in voice and content resonates with the intended audience
    • Maintain an editorial calendar to ensure cohesive and timely messaging across platforms and accounts
    • Monitor performance metrics and provide actionable insights to optimize accounts and engagement
    • Engage with online audiences by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner
    • Stay current on social media trends, cultural moments, and platform updates, leveraging them to create innovative and engaging content
    • Highlight key events, partnerships, and success stories in real time, fostering a sense of community and trust among followers

    Public Relations and Storytelling

    • Craft press releases, media pitches, and talking points to promote philanthropic efforts, community projects, and organizational milestones
    • Support crisis management by crafting thoughtful, transparent communication strategies during sensitive situations
    • Cultivate relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets, focusing on storytelling that highlights the organization’s commitment to creating positive social change
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for media coverage, speaking engagements, and awards to enhance the organization’s visibility and credibility
    • Create and manage PR campaigns, activations, and outreach initiatives from conception to implementation
    • Monitor public and media sentiment to proactively address potential challenges or misconceptions
    • Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and interview requests
    • Develop campaigns that tell compelling stories about the communities served and the organization’s efforts to drive meaningful change

    Website and Digital Presence

    • Maintain and update the organization’s Squarespace website, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and optimized for user experience and SEO
    • Collaborate with team members to reflect organizational priorities through updated web content
    • Suggest updates to enhance the site’s functionality, design, and accessibility, ensuring it remains an effective tool for communicating the organization’s mission and initiatives
    • Monitor website analytics to identify opportunities for improvement and inform content strategies

    Required Skills and Competencies:

    • Superior writing, editing, and copy-editing skills; experience in corporate communications, PR, or journalism preferred
    • Entreprenecurial spirit with enthusiasm for doing whatever it takes to get the job done
    • Political and business acumen and adaptability to manage priorities and anticipate consequences
    • Exceptional organizational and planning skills, with discretion in handling sensitive information
    • Comfortable self-managing in a fully remote environment, while being proactive in seeking clarification when needed
    • Skilled project manager with a proven ability to manage campaigns and initiatives from start to finish
    • Collaborative team player with a willingness to contribute meaningfully to a small, tight-knit team

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s preferred but not required
    • Experience: 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related role
    • Technical Skills:
      • Proficiency in Squarespace or similar website platforms
      • Expertise in social media management tools and analytics platforms
      • Knowledge of SEO, email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp), and graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is a plus
