  • About Us

PSR was founded in 1961 to address the profound risk to human health from nuclear weapons testing and proliferation. It has since expanded its portfolio to also address the human health risks associated with nuclear energy and climate change. Now celebrating its 50th year, PSR is a national not- for - profit, public policy organization that asserts a strong medical voice on security, energy and environmental health issues through education and advocacy. PSR has a grassroots network of twenty-five affiliate chapters across the country, forty medical students chapters, and 50,000 members and e-activist regularly engaged on PSR's issues. PSR is the affiliate of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, recipient of the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize.
