    Established in 1968, Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote social change and justice by providing high-quality legal services to the low-income. GBLA’s priorities fall under six main areas: Children and Family Services, Housing and Homelessness, Immigration Law, Senior Law, Health Law, Employment Law, and Consumer Law. Our founding philosophies are deeply rooted in anti-poverty programs. GBLA provides a holistic approach to each of its clients by providing resources and assistance with accessing basic necessities of life such as food, education, health care, public benefits, and decent housing to name a few.
