Freshkills Park Alliance

The Freshkills Park Alliance, the conservancy partner with the City of New York in its work to develop Freshkills Park, works as an advocate and convener to bring the resources of this huge former landfill to park transformation project to the public. As the park build out continues, the Alliance works to make the park accessible to the public, by supporting experiences that bring people to the park, either virtually or in person, and bringing the park to people where they live, study or play. As the park becomes part of the fabric of New York City, its transformation and accessibility will be ensured. Freshkills Park is an extraordinary 2200-acre urban park that is a model for sustainable land reclamation, a source of pride for Staten Island and New York City, and a gift of open space for generations to come. Its landscape and amenities will be welcoming to all communities and an inspiration to artists, scientists, designers and planners around the world.
