  • About Us

The Brazilian Institute for the Rights of the Disabled Person – IBDD –is an advocacy and legal counseling organization, pressing for better laws dealing with disability rights and for their enforcement. It became evident, that laws and contracts could only ever affect part of the problem. An integrated approach based on empowerment, awareness raising, and socialization was then developed, relying on the virtuous cycle created by empowering persons with disability, which changes the image of disability in society, which makes it easier for persons with disability to break the cycle of dependence, and empower themselves.
