A Day in the Life
What are three things you love and three things you find challenging or frustrating about your work?
Love:
1.  Greeting students and parents every morning.
2.  Problem-solving so that no kid falls through the cracks.
3.  Sitting in classrooms and watching kids learn.

Challenging or frustrating:
1.  Managing a site
2.  Managing communication with external consitituencies
3.  Not getting overwhelmed by all the tasks

What is the most important task on your desk right now?
Determining the lunch status of our students (free or reduced)

What drives you to do this work? What makes you want to get out of bed every morning?
Our country promises that everybody has the right to pursue their goals, yet we are not equally preparing all of our citizens to do that. I want to get out of bed every morning to ensure that my students are getting what they deserve from an American public education.

How often do you "dress up" for work? Describe the culture of your organization.
I wear a tie and shirt every day. Our culture could be described as professional.

In a typical month, about what percentage of your time is spent on the following activities?
Talking on the phone 15%
Dealing with email 5%
Meetings with individuals 60%
Meetings with groups/committees 5%
Writing 5%
Reading 5%
Researching 5%

(Note: respondents could allow their answers to add up to be more than 100%)

What do you do when you are feeling burned out at work?
I go to the gym or I get off site and relax or I have a couple of beers and a couple of cigarettes.
