Mission:

We are social change catalysts. We support sustainable solutions to global poverty while inspiring youth to create a better world.

Recognized for its entrepreneurial approach, media savvy, and ability to create immediate impact, Global AFC currently counts over 100 volunteers across North America and beyond, running the following major programs connecting youth and adults with meaningful social change:

- Riding to Break the Cycle: 25 youth, cross-continental cycling trips provide a unique leadership experience for youth while generating critical discussion, funds and awareness for global poverty. Routes including Amsterdam-Istanbul (4000km), and Vancouver-Tijuana (3000km) have raised over $120,000 to date for youth programs and microcredit loans, engaging thousands of people and gaining significant media attention.

- Young Agents for Change: This program provides funding and ongoing mentorship for young BC social entrepreneurs (12-18) with projects capable of meaningful impact, and works with communities, teachers and schools to speak with young people about the power of youth to shape their world.

- EducationGeneration.org: We're building a community providing scholarships to developing world students, $20 at a time. Our platform connects donors and students around the world, supporting the young leaders that dream of pulling their communities out of poverty. Just launching in August 2008, we have funded 23 students to date.

- Microcredit Challenge: Competing teams of students get $100 “microloans”, and one week to raise as much money and create as much social change as possible. All proceeds build student controlled microcredit funds on each campus.

- The Catalyst: Youth run magazine focused on young people creating meaningful change in their world, discussing critical issues and showcasing opportunities to get involved.

Global Agents for Change (Global AFC) is a registered non-profit founded in January of 2007 by a group of young professionals, university students and social change agents from Vancouver, Canada. Our goal is no less than to change the world.
