Users are increasingly accessing Idealist.org from iPhones, Blackberries and Android phones, making apparent the necessity to develop our content in a format that's friendly to mobile devices.
With the ever-increasing mobile traffic, I was very excited to work with Frank O'Dwyer to get Idealist content onto the iPhone through his application
Word on the Street. His application is the first mobile app to leverage Idealist volunteer opportunities and takes advantage of location to allow users to find nearby places to volunteer.
The application also allows users to leave notes and search for notes on just about anything based on your location. You can also tag and rate notes from other users and share your own notes regardless if the person your sending them to owns an iPhone or not.
