How do I search for a post?

Answer:

There are two different ways you can search for a forum post on Idealist. The first way is to search our whole site.

  1. On the top of any Idealist page you will see our logo and name. To the right of that look for “What are you looking for?” In the field below, enter the post title or some keywords that may help you find what you're looking for.
  2. Click Search.
  3. On the next screen, the results of the search will be divided by the categories of listings and the numbers of listings that match your search. Click the number next to “Forum Posts.”
On the next screen will be a list of all the forum posts matching your search.
You can also search for forum posts within the forums.
  1. Choose a forum from the list of Idealist discussion forums.
  2. Just above the name of the forum, below the green bar with navigation links, you will see a search box. Choose to search the forum that you are currently in, or choose to search all forums on Idealist.
  3. Enter your search terms in the field to the right of the drop-down list.
  4. Click Search.
  5. On the next screen will be a list of all of the forum posts matching your search.
