Founded by civil rights lawyers Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld at the Cardozo School of Law, the Innocence Project (IP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that represents prisoners nationwide for whom post-conviction DNA testing can prove innocence. IP’s mission includes public education about the causes of wrongful convictions and judicial, legislative, and policy reforms.
