Description:
The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, the largest organization providing full-time internships for college and university students in the D.C. area, has an opening for a program coordinator in Academic Affairs. The program coordinator will serve as the primary liaison between TWC and its faculty members; coordinate 35 – 45 academic courses per semester/term; provide administrative support for the seminars program and curriculum development and assessment; and provide event planning for various meetings throughout the year.
Duties and Responsibility:
• Oversee the academic internship course program
• Prepare and distribute course-related publications
• Serve as the primary liaison between TWC and faculty members
• Oversee course enrollment
• Schedule courses and reserve classrooms
• Administer evaluations and prepare evaluation reports
• Maintain database of student and faculty records
• Assist with planning of Campaign 2008: The Presidential Inauguration
• Assist the Senior Vice President, Managing Director of Academic Affairs and related staff:
• Event planning
• Writing and editing for various publications and promotional materials
• Work with finance department on check requests, purchase orders, etc.
• Support department and institution in all areas including recruiting and program development
• Other related duties as assigned
• Serve as a liaison to other divisions within TWC
• Potential for recruitment assignments
Additional Qualifications:
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Very strong organization skills
• Ability to maintain create and manipulate spreadsheets and databases and potential to understand course enrollment and database programs
• Strong writing and communications skills
• Background in customer service, educational program delivery and/or working with college students desired
• Knowledge of Washington, D.C. strongly preferred
