Associate Board Member

First Graduate is looking for young professionals to join their Associate Board! The First Graduate AB is a group of emerging leaders who dedicate their time, resources, and networks to raise awareness and support the mission of First Graduate as it seeks to help local youth become the first in their family to graduate from college. Our key objectives are working with First Graduate on (a) network expansion, (b) fundraising, and (c) strategic projects / skills-based volunteering.

The First Graduate Associate Board is looking for members who

• Are passionate about First Graduate’s mission to help students become the first in their families to graduate from college ready to pursue careers that are meaningful to them.
• Are available for a 15 month commitment, which includes participating in monthly meetings plus additional, ad hoc meetings to plan fundraising events and accomplish various strategic projects (about 10 hours per month)
• Get excited at the thought of working closely with a non-profit and drive change in the education access space!
• Seek to gain more experience developing philanthropic skills while contributing directly to their community

You are a great fit if you:

• Are in the SF Bay Area and have at 3 to 12 years of work experience
• Want the opportunity to work and collaborate closely with peers, First Graduate staff, and the Board of Directors to drive strategic initiatives and expand the organization’s network
• Want to gain insight and a deeper understanding of the inner workings of a non-profit
• Want to expand your professional and social network and connect with like-minded peers also passionate about driving change in San Francisco
• Not required but a plus: Are a first generation college graduate
